Hieromonk Palladius (Bystrov), cleric of the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in the Republic of Turkey, who is responsible for the care of the flock at the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction, participated in the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Apostle Paul in Tarsus, on June 28, 2026.
According to the tradition of the Antiochian Orthodox Church, this divine service is performed in the hometown of the Apostle Paul on the eve of his memorial day (June 29, commemoration of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the new style). The service was led by Bishop Pavel of Tartus (Antiochian Patriarchate).
Russian Russian Orthodox Hieromonk Palladius, on behalf of the Russian Orthodox community, delivered a congratulatory message and presented Bishop Pavel of Tartusa with an icon of the Great Martyr Panteleimon, brought from the Russian Monastery on Mount Athos Panteleimon Monastery.
On June 29, Hieromonk Palladius (Bystrov), together with representatives of the Russian community, took part in the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Apostle Peter in Antakya, Turkey, on the occasion of the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul in the new style. Bishop Pavel of Tartu led the divine service.
At the end of the Liturgy, a traditional prayer for the whole world was performed in the cave of the Apostle Paul in the presence of representatives of the Catholic, Protestant and Armenian communities of Turkey, the official telegram channel of the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in the Republic of Turkey reports.
