On October 13, humanitarian supplies for the 104th Guards Airborne Division were handed over to the central square of the Isheevka work settlement in the Ulyanovsk region.
Archpriest Mikhail Galnykin, rector of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy to All who Mourn" in the village of Isheevka, consecrated the vehicles for transfer to the war zone and blessed the soldiers-defenders. Father Mikhail wished them to return home safe and sound.
The cargo transfer ceremony was attended by members of the 73-Help to the Front group, representatives of the Popular Front NGO, veterans, as well as concerned residents.
At the end of the ceremony, everyone laid flowers at the memorial to the fallen servicemen.

The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
