A meeting with veterans of the special military operation of the Primorsky region was held on October 3 at the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica in Kolomyagi.
The rector, Archpriest Alexander Ryabkov, performed a prayer service, conducted a tour of the temple and told about the life of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, a soldier who was martyred for the faith of Christ.

Father Alexander recalled the widespread veneration of the saint in Russia. Since ancient times, he was considered the patron saint of Orthodox warriors, many princes were baptized in his honor, temples and even cities were dedicated to him. The saint was especially revered by the venerable Prince Dimitri Donskoy, the victor of Khan Mamai on Kulikovo Field.

The rector talked with the veterans, answered questions about spiritual life, how to find support in faith in difficult life circumstances, and invited them to participate in divine services and parish life.

Meetings will become regular: they will be held as part of the interaction between the temple and the Association of Veterans of the Special military operation of the Primorsky district.
