On February 1, 2024, the Russian Orthodox Church prayerfully celebrates the 15th anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. On the eve of the anniversary, events are taking place in all dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church as part of the charity event "15 years — 15 good deeds".
Free creative classes and cultural events are organized in Kazan for children with disabilities, families of ITS participants, and the elderly. Psychological and social assistance is provided to needy residents of the republic on a charitable basis. Kazan parishes and Sunday schools, non-profit organizations, volunteer associations and initiative groups participate in the organization of charity projects and initiatives.
One of the first to join the charity event was the team of the Center for Spiritual and Creative Development with the possibility of inclusive education "Change", which operates at the parish of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
"Last year, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill visited our center, participated in conducting classes, communicated with teachers and pupils. The children and mentors remember the primate's visit with trepidation and want to personally congratulate His Holiness. We prepare a video greeting and hold creative events — a charity concert, free master classes in fine arts, needlework, cooking. The products that children with disabilities will make with their own hands in the classroom will be presented to the parishioners of our church, the elderly — those who especially need care and attention," said Olga Kopylova, head of the Peremena Center.
At the ISO master class, the pupils of "Change" learned to depict Christmas angels. The paintings were presented to the parishioners of the Seraphim parish after the Sunday Liturgy. The volunteers will give the fresh pastries that the children will prepare at the culinary master class to people who regularly apply to the temple for food assistance.
The deaneries of the Kazan Diocese have joined the charity marathon "Good Deeds of Tatarstan" dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Primate of the Church's Primate. The clergy of the Yelabuga deanery, together with volunteers, held a series of educational talks and creative master classes at the Yelabuga orphanage, the sisters of mercy of the sisterhood in the name of the Holy Martyr Elizabeth visited the residents of the city nursing home, organized a charity lunch for needy residents of the city.
Charity events are held in all regions of Tatarstan.
