On April 7, 2025, the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, the hundredth anniversary of the repose of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow (1925), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. 
This day marked the 56th anniversary of His Holiness' service in holy orders. On April 7, 1969, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Monk Cyril (Gundyaev), at that time a student at the Leningrad Theological Academy, was ordained deacon. 
At the special litany, prayer petitions were offered for His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
Special petitions were also made for Holy Russia.
Archbishop Thomas of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk read a prayer of thanks for the blessings of God, addressed to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill "on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of his ministry at the Throne of God."
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church read a prayer for Holy Russia.
The sermon before Communion was delivered by Priest Georgy Brylev, an employee of the Youth Affairs Department of the Moscow (city) Diocese, a cleric of the Church of St. Nicholas of Myra in Pokrovsky, Moscow.
At the end of the Liturgy, the glorification of the feast of the Annunciation was celebrated.
While singing the greatness of the Archangel's Voice, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill bowed to the icon of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in the local row of the iconostasis.
The Primate of the Russian Church addressed the faithful with a Primatial address. His Holiness also read out a sermon delivered by him on the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in 2011.
According to tradition, after the service on the feast of the Annunciation, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, together with participants of the service, representatives of the youth movement "Patriarchal Volunteers" and pious believers, released pigeons into the sky from the steps of the Annunciation Cathedral.
