On October 19, 2024, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Russian Federation Embassy in Beijing. The service was led by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations (DECR) of the Moscow Patriarchate, to mark the 15th anniversary of the church's consecration, which took place on October 13, 2009, according to the DECR's official website.

Metropolitan Anthony was joined by clergy from parishes in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Taipei, Shanghai, Dalian, as well as priests from Moscow. The service was attended by representatives of Russian diplomatic institutions, the Archangel Michael Foundation, Russian compatriots, and international guests.

Following the liturgy, Metropolitan Anthony presented Patriarchal awards for service to the Holy Church. Among the recipients were Archpriest Dionisy Pozdnyayev, rector of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Hong Kong, Hieromonk Innokenty (Kolesnikov), E. I. Milskaya, scientific staff, and the church's choir directors. The event concluded with a visit to the newly renovated museum exhibition dedicated to the history of the Russian Orthodox Mission in China.

The first Orthodox church in Beijing was consecrated in 1696, and its history has been closely intertwined with the Russian Orthodox Mission. Restored after numerous destructions, the Dormition Church has become an important spiritual and cultural center for the Russian Orthodox community in China.
