The rite of consecration of two bells took place in the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Butki, in the Serpukhov city district.
The church was built in 1711 and is considered one of the oldest in the municipality.
Like many other religious sites, the temple was destroyed during the Soviet era, and it began to be restored in the 2000s. Renovation and landscaping works are continuing here, and parishioners are taking part in them.
Until recently, two bells were missing from the bell tower. They were able to be ordered and cast at the expense of philanthropists. The rite of consecration was recently performed by Bishop Axius (Lobov) of Podolsk and Lyubertsy, co-served by the dean of the district, Priest Dionysius and the rector of the church, Archimandrite Kirill.
The event became a holiday for believers, especially since it happened on the days when the Orthodox celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord, or Epiphany. According to local authorities, spiritual life is the foundation for the well-being and prosperity of the district.
