From March 9 to April 4, 2025, the VIII International Lenten Choral Festival will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The music Forum is designed to promote the revival of the long-standing Russian tradition of holding concerts of sacred and classical music during Lent, as well as to increase public interest in the historical continuity of generations and the spiritual enlightenment of society.
The artistic directors of the VIII International Lenten Choral Festival are Rector of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor A.S. Sokolov and Head of the Department of Choral Conducting, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor L.Z. Kontorovich. The curator of the festival program is A.A. Puzakov, Honored Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the Moscow Synodal Choir.
The festival is attended by: The Academic Large Choir "Masters of Choral Singing" of Orpheus Radio; the chamber Choir of the Moscow Conservatory; the Tula State Choir; the Moscow Synodal Choir; the Tchaikovsky State Academic Large Symphony Orchestra; the chamber Choir of the V.S. Popov Academy of Choral Art; the boys' Choir of the A.V. Sveshnikov Choral College; The Senior Choir and the choir "Brevis", GBOU DO TSTR and MEO "Joy"; choir of students of the Moscow Conservatory.
