The XX International Charity Film Festival "Radiant Angel" will be held in Moscow under the motto "Good Cinema".

The organizers of the event are the Foundation for Socio—Cultural Initiatives, the Center for Spiritual and Moral Culture "Pokrov", the production company "Fest-Film" with the assistance of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media.

The festival is held with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Department of Mass Media and Advertising of Moscow.

The spiritual trustee of the film forum is His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The film Festival is organized under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Integrated Target Program "Spiritual and Moral Culture of the younger generation of Russia", President of the Foundation for Socio-Cultural Initiatives Svetlana Medvedeva.

394 films from 20 countries have been announced for the film festival. 151 films from eight countries: Russia, Belarus, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan were allowed to participate in film screenings by experts of the selection committee and the Spiritual Expert Council.

The competition program of the film festival included 89 films, including 38 debut works, in four categories: full-length feature films, short feature films, documentaries, animation.

A distinctive feature of the anniversary film festival will be the retrospective program "Golden Collection of the Radiant Angel": viewers will see 49 films-winners and laureates of the film forum of different years, and a thematic program "From the Great Patriotic War to the present day will also be offered. Are we learning the lessons of history?", special events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Battle of Kursk and the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia have been prepared. Guests of the film forum will be able to attend creative meetings with famous directors and artists, special screenings, master classes and exhibitions.

The most active viewers and participants — students of specialized universities and faculties, schoolchildren from media classes — will be given the opportunity to publish their reviews, reviews and reports on social networks and on the information resources of the film festival.

The opening film of the film festival is "Doctor" (Russia, 2022), directed by Artem Temnikov. The plot of the film is based on real events described in the documentary novel by Maria Anufrieva "Doctor X and his children". There are different children in one ward: one completely went into the world of virtual reality computer games and decided that he had ceased to be a person and turned into a Creature, the second was carried away by the ideas of Nazism through the fault of his stepfather, the third — a boy from a prosperous family — did not want to live and tried to step off the balcony, and the fourth is simply silent and hates everyone. How can we reach their hearts, find the root cause of the evil that has settled in their souls, convince them that the ideas of fascism are absolute evil, and life itself is worth not giving up on it, but appreciating every moment? These tasks are solved by Dr. Khristoforov, overcoming bureaucratic obstacles, his own problems and doubts, the resistance of young patients and misunderstanding on the part of a loved one.

During the days of the film festival, the guests will be offered an extensive program of thematic meetings, master classes and special screenings, which, in particular, will include:

creative meeting with People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov, artistic director of the Oleg Tabakov Theater and School, director, screenwriter and film producer;

meeting with a mother of many children and TV presenter Tutta Larsen in the framework of the seminar "The use of film materials in educational work", presenter — director and film teacher Alexey Sviridov;

a conversation with teenagers and young people "About creativity, blogging and the soul", which will be conducted by Priest Alexander Ovcharenko, a cleric of the Patriarchal Compound of the Church of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky at the MGIMO of Moscow, creator of the Studio of Orthodox films "Vine", screenwriter, director;

"To Understand the Russian Truth: the Image of Russia in Domestic and Foreign Cinema" is a public discussion of the Cinema and Meanings Film Club with the participation of Professor Lev Karakhan of the S.A. Gerasimov VGIK, film director Anton Megerdichev, director, screenwriter and teacher Ivan Perekatov, presenters are producer Anastasia Legoyda and journalist Sergey Vereykin.

Attending film screenings and events of the film festival with free tickets, which can be booked on the official website of the Radiant Angel. Access to cinema halls is possible only if all applicable sanitary and epidemiological standards are observed.

The charity film Festival "Radiant Angel" was established in 2003 and is timed to the National Unity Day and the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. In 2005, two festivals were held, and since that time "Radiant Angel" has been held regularly. In 2007, the film forum received the status of an international one. Every year, the directorate of the film festival receives about 400 applications for participation from more than 15 countries.

Films are allowed to participate in the festival, revealing to the viewer complex and sometimes contradictory issues of the life of modern society, awakening the best human qualities, making people think, preaching traditional moral values, teaching kindness, indifference and justice.

According to official statistics, over the past years, the festival audience has seen 2,416 films corresponding to the motto "Good Cinema!", 174,478 spectators attended the events and screenings of the film forum.

The professional jury of the film forum includes famous figures of Russian culture, cinema and television. The children's jury, which is also a unique feature of the film festival, is formed on a competitive basis among schoolchildren of the media classes of the capital.
