The second charity festival "Star of Christmas" will be held in Moscow from December 19 to January 22. The main organizer of the festival is the Mercy portal with the support of the Synodal Department for Charity. All proceeds from the festival will be used to support charity projects.
During the month - from mid-December to mid-January - the Moscow public will enjoy concerts, performances, master classes, a large charity fair, nativity performances, an exhibition of a charity poster of the early twentieth century, meetings and conversations "Conversations about Christmas", an animated film screening "Native Christmas" at the Cinema House.
The Star of Christmas Festival was supported by famous artists and performers: conductors Denis Lotoev and Leonid Lundstrom, pianist Ekaterina Mechetina, actors Alisa Grebenshchikova, Ksenia and Irina Alferov, Alexander Mikhailov, Alena Babenko, Olga Kalashnikova, Elena Zakharova and others.
"Charity can be a celebration and bring joy to all participants," says festival initiator Yulia Danilova, editor-in-chief of the charity portal Милосердие.ги "Our festival is gaining momentum, turning into a platform where art meets good deeds under the light of the Christmas Star."
This year, the festival was joined by: the Yesenin Museum, where an exhibition of a charity poster of the Art Nouveau era will open; designer Victoria Andreyanova, who will provide exclusive lots for a charity fair; the Bel Canto Foundation will perform a musical fairy tale with an organ and sand animation in the Cathedral Chamber; the Tretyakov Gallery will hold one of the nativity performances at the inclusive site "Good Museum". The full program of the festival is on the website.
Theaters and concert venues will provide free tickets for refugees, wards of the Orthodox relief service "Mercy", children with serious illnesses, as well as for sisters of mercy.
Last year, the first festival became a bright event for Muscovites and guests of the capital. The total charitable collection amounted to more than 6 million rubles. And a cartoon specially created for the festival, an adaptation of Boris Pasternak's poem "The Christmas Star", became a finalist for the TEFI KIDS 2024 award in the category "Best Animated Film for Children".
