On October 20, 2026, the results were summed up and the winners of the IV Republican contest "Sanctity of Birth — 2026" were awarded at the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel of the Belarusian State Medical University. The event was timed to coincide with the Week of Parental Love, which takes place in Belarus from October 14 to October 21.
The initiators of the competition were the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Pokrov Charitable Foundation for Family, Motherhood and Childhood Support. The competition is aimed at supporting specialists who help women in difficult life circumstances, provide professional and psychological assistance to pregnant women and help preserve the lives of unborn children.
The award ceremony was preceded by the Republican round table "A healthy family is a strong state", which was attended by heads and specialists of healthcare institutions, obstetricians and gynecologists, psychologists, specialists in the field of healthcare, education, social support and protection of family and childhood, representatives of public organizations and the Church. Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Boris Androsiuk and Chairman of the Pokrov Charitable Foundation Andrei Zubenko addressed the participants of the forum with welcoming words.
Metropolitan Veniamin noted in his speech: "Despite the challenges and rapid changes in the modern world, the family remains an immutable value for humanity. It is in the circle of loved ones that a person recovers strength after work, finds support in difficult life circumstances, gets inspiration and a sense of fullness of life. Of particular importance is the birth of a child, which becomes a new stage in the development of the family and brings joy to it."
The reports presented at the forum raised issues of responsible parenting, support for pregnant women, the preservation of reproductive health and the development of cooperation between medical institutions, the Church and public organizations.
Special attention of the participants was attracted by the joint initiative of the Pokrov Foundation and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus — the distribution of special postcards for expectant parents in healthcare institutions. The postcards are planned to be given to women who come to women's clinics and other healthcare institutions to register for pregnancy. The appeal is addressed to both parents — mom and dad. It reminds us of the value of a new life, the importance of each parent's participation and shared responsibility for the baby's future. It is assumed that the initiative will become permanent and will be implemented in healthcare institutions throughout Belarus.
At the end, the award ceremony for the winners of the IV Republican contest "The Sanctity of Birth" took place. The competition received 36 applications, of which 16 participants were recognized as the best.
