After the completion of the renovation work in Lisichansk, the premises of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission assistance center were consecrated. Now the regular reception of those in need will be resumed here. The reception in the renovated premises is planned to be held four times a week. Repairs were carried out by local volunteers.
The assistance center of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission in Lisichansk operates at the Second Mitrofanovsky Church. Various social projects are being implemented in the parish: the family workshop "Dobraya Gornitsa", the "Raifa refectory" with a mobile dining room, a well for water supply, a laundry room and a shower room.
The first sisterhood of mercy in the Severodonetsk diocese was also opened at the church. Currently, the sisterhood consists of 16 sisters who provide daily assistance to those in need.
The Russian Orthodox Church has been helping civilians in Donbas since February 2022. There are 12 church aid centers in the border areas, Moscow and the conflict zone, which have processed over 407,000 requests. More than 4,370 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to the victims. More than 7,400 volunteers participated in helping the victims. As part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone, 796 private homes have been restored. The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission coordinates the Church's social assistance in the regions of the conflict zone.
