On October 21, 2024, in Abidjan, a meeting took place between the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, and the Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Messamba Bamba. The discussion centered around the potential for officially registering the Russian Orthodox Church in the country.
Metropolitan Konstantin outlined the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, detailing the parishes already established in Côte d'Ivoire. He also introduced Father Parthenios Dansou, who is responsible for overseeing the local congregations. After the meeting, the metropolitan gave an interview to a local television station.
The Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa is already officially registered in countries such as Kenya, the Central African Republic, Zambia, Uganda, Nigeria, and Tanzania. Metropolitan Konstantin's visit to Côte d'Ivoire, which began on October 19, included the blessing of the foundation stone for a future church dedicated to the Apostle Thomas in Bonoua, as well as a diaconal ordination in Abidjan.
