From May 8-10, 2026, the VIII Orthodox Youth for a Healthy Lifestyle car ride was held in the Lyakhovichi district of the Brest Region, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was organized by the Brotherhood in Honor of the Holy Martyr Seraphim of Zhirovichi at the parish of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the city of Lyakhovichi, the Lyakhovichi Deanery, the Lyakhovichi District Executive Committee, the International Public Association "Christian Educational Center named after Saints Methodius and Cyril", the Minsk Theological Academy and the Minsk Theological College.
About 100 people took part in the race.
The route passed through the territory of the Lyakhovichi district of the Brest region. During the race, the participants covered about 50 kilometers on bicycles and about 120 kilometers on cars.
The race included visits to places of military glory and mass graves with the laying of flowers, visits and congratulations on Victory Day to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons equated to them, visits to social institutions and Orthodox churches.
The program also included movie screenings, concerts and entertainment events.
According to the organizers and participants, the campaign was aimed at preserving the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, attracting young people to a healthy lifestyle, strengthening the bond between generations and preserving the historical truth about the Great Victory.
