On April 22, 2025, an explosion of ammunition occurred at an armament depot on the territory of a military unit in the village of Barsovo in the Kirzhachsky district of the Vladimir region.
Archpriest Nikolai Mishin, head of the Department of the Alexander Diocese for cooperation with the Armed Forces, took part in the evacuation of local residents, as well as shrines from the temple located at the military unit. According to preliminary data, the temple building was not damaged as a result of the first explosion.
All evacuated citizens are housed in schools in the neighboring village of Krasny Oktyabr. The clergy of the Kirzhach deanery were sent to temporary accommodation facilities to provide spiritual support and coordinate assistance to the victims.
With the blessing of Bishop Stefan of Alexandrovsky and Yuriev-Polsky, on April 27, the 2nd Week after Easter, a collection of financial assistance to residents of the Kirzhachsky district affected by the explosion will be held in all churches of the diocese.
