On September 22, 2026, spiritual events were held in Addis Ababa as part of the Days of Russia in Foreign Countries project. "Russian Seasons" has been implementing the Days project since 2018 jointly by the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, the DECR Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Archpriest Sergiy Zvonarev, and the DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations, Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), took part in the events. Among the church participants from Russia are Abbess of the Marfo—Mariinsky Monastery of Mercy in Moscow, Abbess Elisaveta (Pozdnyakova), rector of the Transfiguration Monastery of the Pronsky Monastery of the Ryazan Diocese, head of the Department of Theology at Ryazan State University named after S.A. Yesenina Hegumen Luka (Stepanov), Head of the Department for Work with state Structures of the Synodal Department for Church-Society Relations and the Media P.V. Lebedev.
The events of the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Ethiopia opened with the presentation of the photo exhibition "About the World of the Whole World", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The photo exhibition takes place in the premises of the School of Humanities and Design at the University of Addis Ababa. "Russian Seasons" Deputy Director I.Y. Bezukladova, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Addis Ababa V.V. Golovachev, Director of the Dejazmacha Balchi Hospital of the Russian Red Cross in the Ethiopian capital A.A. Obukhov, attended the opening ceremony.
The program continued with a podium discussion on "Charity and charity as a religious, cultural and humanitarian mission." The discussion was moderated by Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov). Reports were made by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ethiopian Church, including the head of the Ethiopian Church's media department and the press secretary of its Holy Synod, Priest Daniel Seifemihael, representatives of the Russian and Ethiopian museum, academic and medical communities, and charitable foundations. The presentations were devoted to various aspects of ecclesiastical, cultural, and generally humanitarian Russian-Ethiopian contacts.
The events of the Days of Russia in Addis Ababa also include performances by the fraternal choir of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Solovetsky Stavropol Monastery.
