In 2023, fifteen new Orthodox churches were inaugurated in Moscow, according to Vladimir Resin, the curator of the city's church construction program, as reported by Interfax.

Resin mentioned that while only one programmatic church was completed in 2012, the number reached fifteen in 2023, replicating the success of the previous year. The deputy expressed hope that this dynamic would continue in 2024. Initially, the plan was to complete ten churches per year and commence the construction of ten new churches annually, but resources allow the program to achieve a rate of 15 new churches per year.

Since the program's inception in 2010, 246 new church complexes have been built and reconstructed, including 123 major capital churches, three of which are still awaiting completion. Additionally, 120 small wooden churches have been installed. Currently, construction is ongoing for 43 major capital churches, 17 are in preparation for construction, and 24 are in the design stage.

The church construction and reconstruction program in Moscow is implemented in all administrative districts except the Central one. It is funded through donations, with the charitable "Moscow Church Construction Support Fund" established for fundraising purposes.
