The Orthodox Church should work more with
young people, maintain a dialogue with the education system, so
that all children in Public Schools are taught the basics of Orthodoxy,
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia said during a visit to Polotsk,
Belarus.
According to the head of the Russian
Orthodox Church, the great gift of the Orthodox faith must be nurtured in the
hearts of people, especially young ones who are under the influence of the
modern information flow, having no immunity to evil that attacks them from the Internet. We ought
to be more open to the young generation, to develop and support Sunday schools,
to build relationships with schools and other educational institutions, so that
the basics of Orthodoxy are taught to the students.
– The objective is to have the minors
partake of the core human values, including those on which true patriotism, that
is, love of the Fatherland, is based upon. Once the Lord demands us to love our neighbors, no one can renege on love of
his homeland, – the primate said.
