The Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John was celebrated at the Voznesensky Orshin Monastery.
After the Divine Liturgy, the sisters of the monastery, pupils of the Rodnik Children's Center, parishioners and guests marched in a procession singing the akathist to the Predtechenskaya Chapel, located northwest of the monastery on the banks of the Orsha River.
At the walls of the chapel, the monastery's cleric, Priest Andrei Gaidai, read the festive Gospel. The prayer to the Baptist of the Lord was read upon the return of the procession to the Ascension Cathedral, where in ancient times there was a chapel dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist.

The wooden Predtechenskaya Chapel was built in 2006 in memory of the fact that once in the ancient Ascension Cathedral of the monastery there was a special church "on the palatine" (on the choirs) in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist. This upper chapel did not last long, and already in the 17th century it ceased to be mentioned in monastic documents.
The Chapel of the Nativity of John the Baptist is a small square of the cage type, chopped "into a bowl". The chetverik completes the metal octagonal tent, topped with a dome with a cross. Thin carved cornices painted in the color of pine and a small rectangular window opening with architraves and shutters give the building a special elegance.
In the chapel, during the warmer months, prayer services are held on Tuesdays with the akathist to the Baptist of the Lord and the consecration of water in the Orsha River.
