The building of the Guard tent was transferred from regional ownership to the Savvino-Storozhevsky Stavropol Monastery in Zvenigorod, Odintsovo city district, the press service of the Moscow region Ministry of Property Relations reported on Thursday.
"A 60.2 square meter guard tent located at the Northern Gate of the monastery has been provided to a religious organization for free use for 49 years. The monastery plans to host a pilgrimage service there," the message says.
According to Tikhon Firsov, the Minister of Property Relations of the region, this is the second transfer of religious property to the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery. Earlier, an object of cultural heritage, the residential building of Theological Schools, built in the 1820s, was transferred from the regional property to accommodate the seminary's classrooms.
"By the end of 2025, the ministry plans to transfer three more religious facilities to the religious organization - the Tsaritsyn Chambers, the Hotel and the Gatehouse," Firsov was quoted as saying by the press service.
The ministry added that the museum complex of the Zvenigorod Museum-Reserve was previously located in the transferred buildings. The transfer of religious objects to the monastery is carried out as the museum collections are moved and moved to a new building.
