On the 5th Sunday of Great Lent, the clergy of the deanery of Nandi, the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, priests Tit Kipnjen, Christos Keni, Iason Kailel, Joseph Kiplimo, Kyriak Kipchumba, and Polycarp Kibivot celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of St. Luke.
A temporary structure for worship was erected by parishioners on a site donated by one member of the congregation.
On April 8, priest Titus Kipnjen chaired a meeting of the clergy in the deanery of Nandi of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa. The meeting, held at the parish school of the Church of Saints Joseph and Mary, approved the organizational structure of the deanery. It also discussed issues related to liturgical practice, hampered by the lack of utensils and liturgical vessels, which will soon be sent to our clergy in Africa.
Particular attention has to be drawn to the completion of the construction works on the churches of St. Constantine and Helena in Tilolva and St. Andrey in Chepsonoi, as well as to the construction of new ones. Today, eight parishes in Nandi do not have permanent places for celebrating Divine services, and are in need of suitable temporary sites. As time goes on, these parishes will get newly built permanent churches.
