Christmas services took place at the Resurrection Church in the capital of Morocco, Rabat, as reported by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa. The festive services brought together diplomatic representatives, members of international organizations with their families, numerous compatriots, guests, and parishioners of the church.

After the Liturgy dismissal, a celebration of the holiday was held, and the Christmas message from the Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Bishop of Zaraysk Konstantin, was announced.

Following the service, a Christmas concert titled "On this Holy Bethlehem Night" took place, featuring performances by students from the Sunday school. After the festive event, young artists and other children received gifts and shared the joy of a communal feast with the adults.

The Church of the Resurrection of Christ (Resurrection Church) is an Orthodox church in Rabat, the oldest of the three functioning Orthodox churches in Morocco and the oldest Russian Orthodox church in Africa. After the formation of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, the church became part of the North African Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The Orthodox community in Rabat emerged in 1925. In the 1920s, Morocco, divided into French and Spanish protectorates, attracted Russian immigrants from Tunisia, France, Yugoslavia, and Bulgaria in search of work. Among them were Foreign Legion soldiers, sailors from the Russian squadron in Bizerte, engineers, and other immigrants from various backgrounds.

For several years, services were held in a temporary barracks. Metropolitan Evlogy (Georgievsky), who managed the Russian Western European parishes, left memories of that time. In the early 1930s, the community received a donated plot of land in the new city of Bab Tamensa, and the search for funds for the construction of the church began. The community organized charity concerts and evenings, which were popular among the local audience, to raise funds. The current church dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ was consecrated in 1932.
