On July 3, 2026, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk consecrated the foundation stone of the church in honor of Christ the Savior, who heals the paralytic at the Sheep Font. The temple will be erected on the territory of a military hospital in the city of Stavropol.

In the courtyard of the hospital, the ruling bishop was met by Archpriest Alexander Gomziak, Chairman of the construction department of the Stavropol Diocese, dean of the First Stavropol District, Priest Vladislav Suleymanov, head of the diocesan Department for cooperation with the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as military personnel and hospital staff.

During the divine service, His Eminence was accompanied by the clergy of the Stavropol Diocese. The choir of the Stavropol Theological Seminary performed the chants of the order of the laying.

The ceremony was attended by the acting head of the hospital, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Kobzev, the architect of the Stavropol Diocese, Sergei Levshakov, and the architect of the church under construction, Nikolai Bondar.

After the ceremony of laying the foundation stone, Metropolitan Kirill addressed the audience with an archpastoral address. His Eminence emphasized the special spiritual significance of the future temple, which will become a place of prayerful consolation and healing not only for the physical but also for the mental ailments of soldiers undergoing treatment. The bishop recalled that the choice of dedication to the Savior healing the paralytic is deeply symbolic.: Just as the Lord once granted healing to the sick at the font, so here, within the walls of the hospital, the Sacraments of Communion and Unction will be performed to strengthen the forces of the defenders of the Fatherland.
