The head of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Metropolitan Tikhon (Mollard), arrived in Ukraine and met with the Primate of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), Metropolitan Onufriy. This was reported by the UOC press service.
On Saturday, Metropolitan Tikhon, along with Metropolitan Onufriy, conducted the liturgy at the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the city of Chernivtsi. According to Metropolitan Onufriy, Metropolitan Tikhon came to Ukraine to "venerate our Ukrainian holy sites and to pray for peace on our Ukrainian land." Metropolitan Onufriy also mentioned that Metropolitan Tikhon's visit will be long and expressed hope that it will be beneficial.
On Sunday, the delegation of the Orthodox Church in America visited the Banchensky Monastery and met with members of the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. During the meeting, they discussed the development of the Orthodox mission both in Ukraine and in America. Metropolitan Tikhon shared the results of the fundraising efforts in the American Orthodox Church, which raised over two million US dollars for the needs of church humanitarian missions in Ukraine. This amount was the largest in the history of the American Orthodox Church.
