On May 15, 2026, a plenary meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group on "Common Values as the basis for cooperation and Mutual Understanding between Russia and the Islamic World" was held at the Bashir Rameev IT Park in Kazan.
The meeting was held under the representation of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, who heads the Strategic Vision Group on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The event was attended by: Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin; High Representative of the UN Secretary General to the Alliance of Civilizations, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General Miguel Angel Moratinos; Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Magomedsalam Magomedov; Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youssef El Dubeyi; Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov.
On the part of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, Hieromonk Grigory (Matrusov), and Priest Andrey Titushkin participated in the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tajuddin, the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia Mufti Albir Krganov and the Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin.
Before the meeting, the participants of the Strategic Vision Group congratulated Metropolitan Kirill on his 65th birthday.
During the forum, topical issues of modernity, dialogue of cultures and civilizations, and the further development of mankind in accordance with traditional and religious values were discussed.
