On September 23, 2026, the IX Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "The Spiritual Heritage of Russia" was opened in Murom.: The Holy Princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom are the epitome of marital unity." The event was opened by Bishop Nil of Murom and Vyaznikovsky.
Within the framework of the forum, the chairman of the Patriarchal Commission on Family, Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, Priest Theodore Lukyanov, made a presentation on the foundations of spiritual life and the preservation of the family in the modern world.
The conference traditionally unites teachers, students, clergy and cultural figures and is aimed at preserving family values and understanding Orthodox traditions.
This year's forum is dedicated to the following anniversaries: The 1700th anniversary of the finding of the Precious Cross and Nails by Saint Queen Elena in Jerusalem (March 6, 326); the 930th anniversary of the first mention in the chronicle of the Transfiguration of the Saviour Diocesan Monastery (1096), in which the blessed Prince Peter took monastic vows and passed away in 1228; the 35th anniversary of the second finding of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov (January 15, 1991).
