With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Orthodox Missionary Society in the Name of St. Innocent of Moscow in 2024-2029 will organize a missionary procession with the honorable head of St. Innocent of Moscow, which will take place on the territory of the dioceses of Siberia and the Far East. This missionary action was named "The Second missionary journey of St. Innocent of Moscow."
The beginning of the procession is timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the missionary service of St. Innocent of Moscow, who arrived at the place of service on July 29, 1824.
The missionary procession is scheduled to be completed on October 6, 2029, at the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra - the day when the Russian Orthodox Church will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the righteous death of the saint, who departed to the Lord in 1879.
The procession with the honorable head of St. Innocent of Moscow will take place in 38 dioceses of Siberia and the Far East, including the places of his apostolic exploits, and will be accompanied by missionary events.
On September 6, this year at 16.00 in the church of St. Nicholas of Myra in the New Settlement of Moscow at the Synodal Missionary Department, a prayer service with an akathist to St. Innocent of Moscow will be performed in front of his honest head.
At the end of the prayer service, the shrine will be escorted to Sheremetyevo airport, from where it will be delivered to Irkutsk — to the city where the future missionary saint received spiritual education, was ordained to holy orders and from where he set off on his first missionary journey.
