The staff of the field aid service of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission in Belgorod, together with Priest Leonid Oleinik, visited two settlements of the Kharkiv region — Novoegorovka and Grakovo and handed over portable radios to those in need. This equipment allows you to quickly inform residents about the movement of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), making movement around the area safer.
Irina Lyufanova, coordinator of targeted assistance at the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission in Belgorod, noted: "Our visit has brought joy in itself. For several years, people have been living in constant danger. The opportunity to alleviate this situation by technical means is to directly save someone's life."
The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission has been supporting the residents of the border villages for a long time. Thanks to the local clergy, various humanitarian aid was transferred to people: food, basic necessities, medicines, seeds.
The Russian Orthodox Church has been helping civilians in Donbas since February 2022. There are 12 church aid centers in the border areas, Moscow and the conflict zone, which have processed over 370,000 requests. More than 4,230 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to the victims. More than 6,935 volunteers participated in helping the victims. Over 729 private homes have been restored as part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone. The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission coordinates the social assistance of the Church in the regions of the SVR zone.
