Based on the decision of the founders of the Autonomous Non-profit Charitable Organization "Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission" in the person of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the director of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission has been appointed. He became the head of the Department of Social Service of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service, Deacon Igor Kulikov.
The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission was established by the decision of the Holy Synod in August 2023 for the overall coordination and development of assistance to affected civilians and internally displaced persons in the conflict zone. The Mission was entrusted to the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Charity. Since that time, Deacon Igor Kulikov has been serving as the Deputy head of the Mission. In October 2024, taking into account the actively developing activities of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, it was registered as an autonomous non-profit charitable organization.
Deacon Igor Kulikov has been working in the Synodal Department of Charity since 2011. Over the past four years, I have repeatedly traveled to the conflict zone. Under his direct leadership, all current areas of work of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission were created.
Currently, there are 12 church aid centers operating in the border areas and the conflict zone, which have processed over 361,000 requests. Over 4,000 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to the victims. Daily assistance is provided in 10 medical and social institutions. Over 6,200 church volunteers went to Donbass to support civilians. Over 640 houses have been repaired by volunteers as part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone.
