Metropolitan Klinsky Leonid recently met with David Quinn, the "bishop" of a non-canonical church in Cameroon, as reported by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa's press service.

"David has come to Russia in search of the Russian Orthodox Church," wrote Metropolitan Leonid in his Telegram channel.

David Quinn's "diocese" reportedly includes twenty "clergy," nuns, seminarians, seven parishes, an under-construction monastery, and a cathedral in Douala, with over a thousand parishioners. Many members of his community are said to be disappointed with the unhealthy moral practices prevailing in their current non-canonical jurisdiction centered in France. They are seeking a true Church with a firm apostolic and biblical tradition, according to the archbishop.

"And he has come to the right place! During today's meeting, we discussed specific steps to begin comprehensive catechesis for the community. After successful completion, the question of acceptance into the Russian Orthodox Church will be decided," concluded the bishop.

Recently, members of a non-canonical Christian community from Gabon were received into the Russian Orthodox Church. The African Exarchate's mission in the country was established in the summer of 2022. At that time, around two hundred representatives of the non-canonical "Patriarchate of Nations" community, including a "bishop," five "priests," and two "deacons" along with their parishes, were received into the Russian Church. The leaders of these parishes were accepted as laypersons and are now studying Russian Orthodox tradition.
