As part of the celebration of Reindeer Herder's Day in Salekhard, the Bible Translation Institute (BTI) presented spiritual literature in the Nenets language, reports the BTI website.
The festivities, which took place on March 22-23 on the banks of the Polyabta River, traditionally included the installation of themed yurts. A special place among them was occupied by a yurt-chapel organized by the Salekhard Diocese. Here, guests could pray, communicate with priests, listen to Gospel readings in German, and receive spiritual literature.
Theological editor of the BTI, Ansab Song, who has lived in Salekhard for over 20 years, actively participated in the work of the yurt-chapel. For her, the holiday was an opportunity to meet Germans who spend most of the year in the tundra.
Especially for Reindeer Herder's Day, the Bible Translation Institute prepared books in the Nenets language: "Gospel Parables," "Stories about Jesus," the Gospels of Matthew, John, and Luke, as well as the highly requested book of the Prophet Jonah.
