Chairman of the Patriarchal Council for Culture Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea took part in the X Conference of Sberbank University "More than Learning" on October 23, 2026. One of the main topics of discussion was the impact of artificial intelligence on humans.
During the session "How to find your "why" and motivation to move forward?", Metropolitan Tikhon and President and Chairman of the Board of the BEAC German Gref discussed the future of technology, the search for truth and the inner freedom of the individual.
Vladyka Tikhon drew attention to the danger of intellectual degradation that occurs if a person, relying on artificial intelligence, stops analyzing information independently. "It is not artificial intelligence that becomes a parasite in humans, but humans that parasitize artificial intelligence," the metropolitan noted.
According to the chairman of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, this problem deserves to be understood in the cinema. He suggested making films about how dependence on artificial intelligence changes the life of a talented, good person and the consequences of giving up independent intellectual work.
German Gref, in turn, stressed that artificial intelligence is still at an early stage of development, although the rapid pace of its improvement has already become one of the biggest modern challenges. According to him, existing models are able to find patterns in large amounts of information, but they still don't understand human feelings the way people understand them.
