On July 3, Priest Dimitri Velnichuk, rector of the Church of Archangel Michael in Mikhailovskoye village, Furmanovsky district, Ivanovo region, served a prayer service with an akathist to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the ruined church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Okeevskoye tract of the Furmanovsky district.
The village of Okeevskoye has been known since 1627. Then there was a wooden church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. And in 1798, a new stone church was built at the expense of the parishioners. A narrowed semi-oval altar and a square refectory adjoined the two-light quadrangle of the temple. At the western facade of the refectory there was a three-tiered bell tower with a half-tier, which served as a pedestal for the tallest middle quadrangle.
There were two altars in the temple: in the cold part — in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, in the warm part — in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Once the church was surrounded by a stone fence, inside which there was a parish cemetery — now there is nothing left of them.
The church was closed in the 1930s. And in 1972, the last resident left Okeevsky. Gradually, the village disappeared — now there is nothing left of it, except for the ruined temple.
The missionary service took place in the ruined church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Okeevskoye tract of the Ivanovo region.
