On April 13, the College of Military Chaplains and the Council for Cooperation with Religious Organizations of the All-Russian Cossack Society (VsKO) held a meeting. The event was co-chaired by Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, the chairman of the Synodal Committee for Interaction with the Cossacks, and General Nikolai Doluda, ataman of the All-Russian East Kazakhstan Cossacks.
Metropolitan Kirill asked military chaplains to pay special attention to the younger generation, which is largely subject to aggressive propaganda of harmful ideology: “The lies that come in a torrent from the Western media, including social networks, the lies which are presented as 'truth hidden from Russians', are poisoning the minds of our younger people. We must draw conclusions today so as not to face even greater problems in the future. We must, sparing no effort, carry the word of the Truth of Christ wherever we can, particularly, to educational institutions.”
The Synodal Committee for Interaction with Cossacks participates in implementing the Strategy of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in respect to Russian Cossacks. Its current activities are directed mainly at raising the spirit and morale of the Cossack community, at educating the younger generation, and at the preservation and enhancement of the Cossack culture and traditional values.
