As part of the XXXIV International Christmas Educational Readings, on January 27, 2026, the Patriarchal Center for the Old Russian Liturgical Tradition at the Intercession Church in Rubtsovo (Moscow) hosted a round table on the problems of Old-Believer parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The day before, the conference "The Old Rite in the Russian Orthodox Church: Past and Present" was held at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, according to the readings website.
The round table was chaired by Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin. The section was curated by Archpriest John Mirolyubov, Doctor of Theology, Secretary of the Commission for Old Believer Parishes and Cooperation with the Old Believers, head of the Patriarchal Center for the Old Russian Liturgical Tradition.
Russian Russian Orthodox Church representatives from ten dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, including participants from the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Latvia, gathered at the event. 24 people (12 of them clergymen) attended the event.
Among the key topics of discussion were the development of co-faith communities, the coordination of pilgrimage and publishing activities, and ways to preserve the liturgical tradition in the modern church space.
The meeting became a meaningful platform for the exchange of experience and discussion of topical issues faced by the Old-Believers parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church.
