From October 9 to 11, 2026, the Literature of Pacific Russia Festival was held in Vladivostok, in Admiralsky Square. Among its participants is the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate, which introduced visitors to new books, spiritual and educational literature, children's and educational publications, as well as church calendars for 2027.
The festival is organized by the Primorsky Branch of the Russian Union of Journalists as part of the Reading Russia project with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. The program brought together meetings with writers, lectures, discussions, presentations of new books and a fair with the participation of Russian publishers.
The central place on the stand of the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate was occupied by the works of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Among the novelties is the book "War. Beyond visible causes and effects", dedicated to the spiritual understanding of war. The author examines the concepts of sacrifice, heroism, patriotism and victory, reflects on the moral responsibility of man and the historical path of Russia.
Another publication presented is "Women's Ministry: Family, Church, Society." It tells about the participation of women in church and social life from the Gospel times to the present day. The Patriarch refers to the examples of Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, St. Euphrosyne of Moscow, St. Elizabeth Theodorovna, and other historical figures. Separate chapters are devoted to modern social service, the upbringing of children and the preservation of spiritual and moral values.
Visitors also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the collections "The spiritual field of Russian culture. Aphorisms and short sayings" and "About meanings". The first one combines the statements of the Primate about Russian culture and the role of the Church in its preservation and development. The second one contains reflections on the spiritual content of various aspects of modern life, from professional service to communication in the digital environment.
Another novelty of the publishing house is directly related to the history of the Far East — "My Kamchatka" by Metropolitan Nestor (Anisimov). The author of the book is a missionary, the first bishop of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, the founder of the Kamchatka Charitable Orthodox Brotherhood, and the organizer of charitable institutions in Harbin. His narrative combines personal memories, testimonies of missionary work and reflections on faith. The publication includes a historical essay "Orthodoxy in Siberia." The book is complemented by photographs from the album, which the author presented to Tsarevich Alexei during an audience in Peterhof in 1911.
A large section of the exhibition was made up of calendar and liturgical editions for 2027. The desktop calendar "Listening to the Word of God" contains daily readings from the Holy Scriptures. The Orthodox calendar with troparia and kontakion is addressed to clergy and laity interested in worship. The illustrated edition of "Filling the Day with meaning" offers spiritual readings for a wide range of readers.
A selection of children's literature was prepared for young visitors. It includes the Bible in Stories for Children, compiled from the works of priest Peter Vozdvizhensky and designed for ages from five to nine years. The book introduces the events of the Old and New Testaments in an accessible narrative form. Another novelty is the Russian folk tale "Kolobok" with illustrations by Elena Babok, released in the series "Grandfather's Tales and Stories".
Small publications for military personnel and their families were presented separately: "The Prayer Book of the Orthodox Soldier", the Gospel of Mark in Russian in the Synodal translation and the prayer book "Mothers, wives, sisters, we pray for soldiers". All three books are published in a single compact format, comparable in size to a military ticket.
