On August 27, the sacrament of baptism of three youths from the community in the village of Magara was performed at the parish of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the city of Rumonga (Burundi). The children were baptized by Priest Epiphanius Akizimana, co-served by Deacon Thomas Nisengwe.
After the baptism, a humanitarian event was held at the parish: on the eve of the start of the school year, Roman Bihimana, a student at the Nikolo-Ugresh Theological Seminary, handed over school notebooks to the students.
According to the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, a total of about eight hundred notebooks were distributed to schoolchildren from the Sergiev parish in Rumonga and from the community in the village of Magara.
