In November 2025, typhoon Kalmaegi, which killed more than 100 people in the Philippines, struck the central part of Vietnam. As a result of the impact of the typhoon, more than 52 thousand residential buildings were flooded. Airports were suspended in the region, flights were canceled or postponed.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Paul of Manila and Hanoi, parishioners of the Orthodox parish in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Nha Trang prepared and distributed more than 300 hot dinners, a large amount of bottled water, and gave warm clothes, life jackets, and other necessities to the affected residents of central Vietnam.
The parish also organized a blood donation for the victims.
Vietnamese media, covering the consequences of the typhoon, noted the social assistance of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese to victims of the disaster.
