Alexander Nevsky Novo-Tikhvin Convent has commissioned an expert examination of the restoration project of the Church of All Saints. This is one of the six temples on the territory of the monastery. It has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
During the survey, experts found that the main structures of the building are in good condition. However, the wooden roof rafters require additional processing, and the iron coating leaks. Downpipes are deformed and do not perform their functions. In addition, bird droppings have accumulated in the dome space, which destroys the mortar of the masonry. The blind area around the building has not been preserved, and part of the granite cladding of the basement needs to be restored.
The restoration project provides for the replacement of roofing, windows and doors, the restoration of brick facade decoration, as well as the reconstruction of the interior in a historical style. The modern balcony, which appeared in Soviet times, will be dismantled. The sisters' cells are adjacent to the church, which will also be restored.
The press service of the Yekaterinburg Diocese 66.RU They clarified that they plan to restore the church within seven years, but the timing may change. The funding will be collected "by the whole world," the diocese explained.
The first church on this site was founded back in 1817, and consecrated in 1822. It was the third temple built on the territory of the monastery. At the end of the 19th century, the dilapidated building was demolished, and in its place in 1900 a stone temple was erected at the expense of philanthropist, Yekaterinburg merchant Mikhail Ivanov. After the revolution, the monastery was handed over to the military. The Church of All Saints was returned to the ownership of the Novo-Tikhvin Monastery only in the 2000s. From 2005 to 2013, divine services were held here, while restoration work was underway in the main Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the monastery.
