Metropolitan Hilarion, the Chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church External Relations Department, in his television program The Church and the World, addressed the current epidemic and the prevention measures against the infection.
“Those who claim that vaccination causes some mysterious consequences, affects fertility, life expectancy, or causes a microchip to be injected into the human body, unfortunately demonstrate ill judgment,” he said. “They have reiterated the most nonsensical tales regarding vaccination, which go contrary to obvious and well proven facts of life and death.”
“In fact, dire consequences are taken by those who refuse vaccination under such a bogus pretext,” continued the Metropolitan. “Hundreds of deaths are recorded every day in our country. How many more casualties do you need to convince you that vaccination is necessary? We all have been vaccinated in our childhood years, and that has saved us from deadly and crippling diseases.”
“I am definitely sorry for you if you believe this nonsense about vaccination, and I am equally sorry for your relatives and others around you who will be infected due to your carelessness and selfishness,” concluded His Eminence.
