On August 9, 2025, the day of remembrance for Saint Panteleimon, the Great Martyr and Healer, Metropolitan Viktorine of Izhevsk and Udmurtia led the feast day celebrations at the Panteleimon Church in Votkinsk. Following the Divine Liturgy, the archbishop conducted the consecration of Udmurtia's first memorial chapel dedicated to fallen defenders of the Fatherland. This was reported by the official website of the Izhevsk Diocese.

The chapel, which was constructed on church grounds, is consecrated in honor of Archangel Michael, the patron saint of warriors. The interior features a stone icon of the Archangel, while the facade bears the inscription: "Eternal Glory to the Defenders of the Fatherland." Adjacent to the chapel, two black stelae have been placed, where the names of the fallen soldiers will be engraved.

"Many mothers of the fallen had long requested this. Now, the people of Votkinsk have their own memorial chapel, dedicated to the soldiers who are shedding blood for us today," said Metropolitan Viktorine, expressing gratitude to the city's leadership and parishioners for their initiative.

In his speech, the Metropolitan also reflected on the challenging history of the church, which was closed during Soviet times and repurposed as a club and workshop. It was later restored with the efforts of the clergy and local community, becoming one of the most beautiful landmarks in the city.

During the feast day celebrations, the Russian Orthodox Church honored those who have supported the church's restoration. Father Sergey Vorontsov, the parish priest, was awarded the RPC's first-degree medal "For Selfless Service," and benefactors received archiepiscopal certificates of gratitude.
