The Holy Martyrs Agapius, Puplius, Timolaus, Romilus, Alexander, Alexander, Dionysius and Dionysius suffered under Emperor Diocletian (284-305) in the city of Caesarea in Palestine. During one of the pagan holidays, Christians who refused to sacrifice to idols were publicly tortured and executed. At that time, the Martyr Timothy (August 19) was condemned to be burned, and the martyrs Agapius and Thekla (August 19) were given to the beasts. 
The Christian youths in the crowd, Puplius, Timolai, Alexander, another Alexander, Dionysius, and the subdeacon of the Diaspol Church, Romil, decided to publicly confess their faith and suffer for Christ.
As a sign of their voluntary feat, they tied their hands and appeared before the ruler Urvan. Seeing their youth, the ruler tried to persuade them to abandon their decision, but in vain. Then he threw them into prison, where there were already two Christians – Agapius, who had suffered torments for his faith in Christ, and his servant Dionysius. All these saints were subjected to terrible torments and beheaded.
