On June 1, 2026, on Children's Day, the Russian Orthodox Church will open a new home for mothers and a humanitarian aid center at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ostankino, Moscow. The new shelter is ready to accept women from all over the country for free, regardless of nationality and religion, including pregnant women who want to undergo additional examinations in Moscow clinics after receiving a diagnosis of fetal pathology.
The new home for mom will be the 87th women's shelter to open with the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church. There are also over 250 church humanitarian aid centers in Russia.
Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service, will take part in the opening of the center.
The new shelter will be able to accommodate six families with children at the same time. The length of stay is determined individually — in each case, the staff of the mother's home, together with the woman herself, will build a personal route out of the crisis situation. They will help you solve social and legal issues, establish relationships with relatives, and find a job.
At the humanitarian aid center, families and single women with children will be able to receive free clothes, strollers, cribs, medicines, food and hygiene products.
The new shelter and humanitarian aid center are divisions of the church's "Home for Mom", which was established by the Synodal Department for Charity in Moscow and has been operating since 2012. During this time, more than 1,800 women received temporary accommodation and about 100,000 people received humanitarian aid. You can find out how to become a volunteer, transfer humanitarian aid, and support the work of the project on the website of the House for Mom domdliamamy.ru .
"Within the framework of our new center, families will be able to receive humanitarian aid, temporary shelter, and assistance in organizing leisure activities for children," says Maria Studenikina, director of the Moscow House for Mom, head of Women's Aid and abortion prevention at the Synodal Department of Charity. — Women who face serious diagnoses of child pathology from any corner of our country will be able to come to us to double-check the diagnosis in the largest Moscow clinics and give their baby a chance at life. And children from the families of our wards will be able to attend classes and master classes in the cozy rooms of our center. We are very pleased that Moscow will have another island of love and care for pregnant women and families with children."
In order to double-check the diagnosis of fetal pathology in Moscow clinics and get free help at the mother's home, you can call +7 (965) 262-98-78 (from 10 to 20 seven days a week).
