The second issue of the "Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate" for 2024 has been published.
The editorial board's message to the readers reads:
"Never, absolutely never, has the Russian Orthodox Church performed its saving ministry in such fullness and in such diversity. Turning to the blessed fruits of the fifteen-year Primatial ministry of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, we look with filial joy and genuine admiration, coupled with the awareness of our temporary involvement in what is happening, at the flourishing fields of the church — both those who have found their diligent workers, and those who have brought good fruits, even if not yet fully hundredfold, but already very plentiful. The significance and greatness of what has been achieved can be judged not only by the review of events of the past years that we publish, but also by the decisions of the Holy Synod, and by the report of our Primate at the Diocesan Meeting of the city of Moscow, which highlights the most important events of the past year. Rooted in tradition and tradition and at the same time open to interaction with the rapidly changing outside world, the Holy Church bravely overcomes trials and remains steadfast, resisting the machinations of inventive ill-will on its way. How can every believer, especially a clergyman, gain strength and courage in our days? His Holiness spoke about this vividly and convincingly at the Diocesan Meeting, noting the enduring importance of the family as a small church, the unique and natural foundation of society, and also with special insistence drew the attention of listeners to the value of prayer based on centuries-old patristic experience, which is central to spiritual life.
I can do everything in Jesus Christ, who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13), — with such conviction the inhabitants of the ancient cave monasteries performed and still do not stop their feat, and to this day they attract those who are eager for a prayer feat to their walls. About the history of cave mansions — an article by P.Y. Malkov. And above, to the sound of guns, in the prayerful confidence that the Savior will not leave those who believe in Him, selfless sisters of mercy are working in the war zone. The truth in ancient times is graciously effective today, it is immutable for the XXI century — never to be separated from the Lord with your heart."
