The exhibition is dedicated to the Year of the Family and three significant dates at once – the 850th anniversary of the death of Andrei Bogolyubsky, the 107th anniversary of the death of the imperial family and the 1000th anniversary of Suzdal. The exhibits are taken from private collections. The Entrance Jerusalem Church was chosen to celebrate such important dates. It has only recently been renovated.
"But the liturgical liturgical life has not yet begun here, it needs to be equipped with everything necessary and consecrated, which is why we are currently using church premises specifically for exhibitions of such church, historical ones that are connected with both the church and our history," said Natalia Demushkina, head of the culture department of the Vladimir Diocese.
The exhibition includes archival items and icons of Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky and the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II. More than 10 shots of the royal family's stay in Suzdal, Vladimir and Bogolyubovo in 1913, as well as about 30 rare photos of the Romanov family from the collection of the Sretensky Monastery. Under the glass there is a plate from the coronation, a book from the library of Prince Sergei Romanov, a breastplate and part of a brick from the Ipatiev house.
At the moment, the project "The Royal Family on the Vladimir land" is unique in its kind. It combines spiritual, family and historical values.
"This exhibition was compact, bright, memorable, instructive, enlightening, and it is enough to look at the faces of the members of the royal family to understand a lot for yourself and draw conclusions," said Tikhon, Metropolitan of Suzdal and Vladimir.
