A decree of the Government of the Moscow Region established zones for the protection of an object of cultural heritage of regional significance "Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, 1904" at the address: Zaraysk city district, Verkhneye-Maslovo village. This is reported by the press service of the Main Department of Cultural Heritage of the Moscow region.
Initially, the wooden church in Maslovo was called Dimitrievskaya. In 1905, at the expense of parishioners, the Nikolskaya Church was built instead of the former wooden brick one. After 30 years, the temple was closed, the utensils were taken to Zaraysk. For many years, the church turned into a grain warehouse and a workshop for the repair of agricultural machinery. In 1998, a church community was established, and in 2004, the church building was completely freed from machine parts and mechanisms.
Earlier, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said that the region realizes the importance of preserving culture and bringing it to every resident of the country. The head of the region also noted that the Moscow region has a unique wealth of cultural and historical heritage.
