On May 26, 2024, the descendants of the Pisarevskys gathered in the Spassky Church of Yaroslavl to honor the memory of priest Nicholas, Archpriest Alexander and other representatives of the ancient priestly family. After the Divine Liturgy, the rite of consecration of the icon of St. Nicholas, the presbyter, was performed, after which a moleben to the saint was served in the church for the first time.
It became known about Father Nikolai at the parish after the publication in 2023 of Alexander Sherstnev's book "Pisarevsky. The family of the saint, confessor Nikolai Pavlovich Pisarevsky." It indicated that St. Nicholas was the brother of Archpriest Alexander Pavlovich Pisarevsky, who served in the Church of the Savior with. Ivankovo from 1886 until the closure of the temple (currently, the date of Fr. Alexander's death is unknown, the last mention of it was in 1931, and the temple was closed in 1941).
Roman Mileshin, a parishioner of the Church of the Savior, a graduate of the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary, prepared material for painting the icon and carried out work on organizing a meeting and establishing contacts between the descendants of the saint. The Yaroslavl iconographer, now working in Sergiev Posad, Alexander Vorobyov, painted a beautiful icon of the confessor Nicholas, which from now on will be an ornament and shrine of the Church of the Savior Not Made with Hands.
After the solemn prayer service, the rector of the Spassky Church, Archpriest Dimitri Ilyichev, served a requiem mass at the grave of Archpriest Alexander and Mother Maria Pisarevsky, during which all the currently known deceased relatives of the Pisarevskys were remembered. The ancient priestly family is closely intertwined with the families of clergymen and ascetics of the faith known in the history of the Yaroslavl land. It is enough to name such surnames as Norsk, Violet, Morev, Theological.
Family communication continued in the refectory of the Spassky Church, where Bishop Benjamin of Rybinsk and Romanovo-Borisoglebsky arrived to meet with the descendants of St. Nicholas, who served in the village of Yagorba in the Mologsky district, now hidden by the waters of the Rybinsk reservoir. His Eminence noted that the memory of the confessor Nikolai Pisarevsky is revered in the Rybinsk diocese and every year divine services are held in honor and memory of the saint on the shore of the reservoir in the nearest functioning church.
In memory of today, the relatives of the holy confessor received the books "We are All Christ's" from Bishop Benjamin, and icons of the confessor Nicholas were presented from the parish for prayer memory.
