The "School of Restorers" is aiding the restoration of the Church of St. George (Epiphany Church) in the Zariche microdistrict of Vologda, a historical site dating back to the 14th century and recognized as the first stone parish church in Northern Russia. TASS reports that this church was once part of one of Vologda’s most picturesque architectural ensembles, and it is the only structure to have survived. The current restoration project is following construction methods from the 16th and 17th centuries, mirroring the techniques used in the original building.

The church gained additional historical significance in 1951 when workers discovered the largest hoard of silver coins ever found in the Soviet Union—46,694 silver kopecks and 22 thalers from the 16th and 17th centuries, now housed in the Vologda Museum-Reserve. Ancient artifacts continue to be unearthed during ongoing restoration efforts.

The project, now in its fifth year, is being supported by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The restoration involves not only rebuilding the brickwork but also recreating the original interior, including the use of lime plaster for the walls. More than 1,000 volunteers have participated, receiving training in safety and specialized workshops before contributing to the work.

Currently, the church is undergoing significant restoration, with new doors and windows installed, while the repair of walls and infrastructure continues. Future plans include restoring the floors, vaults, and the church's basement. Services resumed in 2022, and guided tours are offered to visitors, highlighting the rich history of this sacred site.

The St. George Church ensemble was renowned for its architecture and history, and the Epiphany Church, built between 1629 and 1646, is considered the first stone parish church in the Russian North.
