Russian Russian Clergy: History and Modernity, an exhibition of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, was opened on October 15, 2025, at the XII Stavropol Forum of the World Russian People's Council "The Great Victory: Responsibility to History and the Future" on the territory of St. Andrew's Cathedral in Stavropol.
Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk conducted an excursion for the guests of the event, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Chairman of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks.
"This exhibition is not just the result of the thoughts of theorists, historians and scientists, but it is indeed the result of today's work of our priests, who have passed more than 3,000 people through the zone of a special military operation. And all of them are performing a great feat today," said the head of the Stavropol Archdiocese.
The event was attended by Bishop Ambrose of Grozny and Sunzha, Archpriest Dimitri Vasilenkov, chief priest of the military clergy in the special military operation zone, member of the Supervisory Board of the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation, Monk Cyprian (Burkov), Hero of the Soviet Union, representatives of the military clergy, public, cultural, scientific figures, military personnel, representatives of youth and public associations, university students, media representatives.
The exhibition guests learned about the history of the military clergy, the training of military priests before being sent to the SVR zone, the spiritual support of the defenders of the Fatherland and the history of the symbol of the Russian army — the banner of the Savior. The guests of the event were also shown personal belongings and the liturgical vessels damaged during the fighting by the clergy who died in the Holy War zone.
The exhibition will continue its work until October 19th.
