On February 4, 2024, celebrations were held at the Holy Trinity Church - a compound of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, celebrated on February 1. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia, the Divine Liturgy was led by his vicar, Bishop Dosifey of Liplyansk.
The church was attended by Gavrilo Grban, an employee of the Office of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, representatives of the administration of the Belgrade district of Palilula and Chairman of the Serbian People's Party Nenad Popovic.
In his speech at the end of the service, Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev spoke, in particular, about the many works of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill aimed at the spiritual renewal of the Russian people after decades of state atheism.
The rector of the metochion thanked Bishop Dositheus for the perfect Liturgy and presented His Grace with a panagia in prayerful memory.
Bishop Dositheus, on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia, conveyed gratitude and congratulations to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, noting his role in the process of spiritual revival: "13-14 new churches are consecrated in Russia every day... Indeed, the grace of God visited Russia for the suffering it suffered in the twentieth century. The Russian land has suddenly risen, and with such speed that it is a real miracle performed in our time by the Lord, who has put worthy bishops at the head of the Church."
"Now Russia is going through those difficult times that the Serbian people went through, namely, fratricidal wars initiated by dark forces," the hierarch mentioned, noting that prayers are being offered in the Serbian Church for the return of peace and for "love to reign again between brothers."
"We are grateful to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill for his love for the Serbian people," Bishop Dosifey continued. "The Russian people, realizing the spiritual significance of St. Sava's Cathedral in Belgrade, worked hard to beautify and complete it, thereby gaining the blessing of St. Sava of Serbia." "We thank the Lord God for judging His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to be the shepherd of the Russian people in these difficult times," the bishop said.
After the service, a solemn reception was held in the Chancery Hall of the Russian Orthodox Church in honor of the fifteenth anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
